The blue silk fabric was originally a shawl my mum bought for me in Thailand, I absolutely love it. There is a natural movement in the fabric and a way the colours changes with the light. Handstiching the hundres of small knots brought me peace. My intention is that this piece also will bring you a feeling of peace and calm happiness.
The silk is machine stitched to purple linen. In between there is a layer of vlieseline, to bring stability. The work has then been stitched to black cotton, which is wrapped around a handmade wooden frame (made by Kristian), and fastened with staples.
It is ready to hang on the wall in its new home.
While I´ve done my best to make the colors look accurate and true in the photos, you might find that they differ slightly.
