Yoga has given me a lot of pleasure and beautiful experiences over the years. I remember especially one moment, in Greece, were I was doing the sun salution exactly at sunrise. It was such a crisp morning, like summer mornings are in Greece at dawn. And suddenly I got into a flow. There was only my breathing, the quiet movement, the fresh air and early rays of sunshine on my body. That moment inspired this picture.
Sun Salution is a unique, handmade piece of fabricwork, a perfect gift for someone who loves yoga. The life-giving energy of the sun as it fills your entire body.
In this image I have used scrap fabrics, some has been painted to create the colours and feeling I wanted. The scraps are handstitched onto the background, and I have added gold beads and knots to create liveliness.
The work is handstitched onto canvas, which has been mounted on a wooden frame (made by Kristian). It is signed and ready to hang on the wall.
