When I dyed the fabrics I have used in this picture, my intention was to make an image with flowering almond trees. In the mountains where I live, we experiences the most breathtaking scenery in the month of February, when tens of thousands almond trees are blossoming, and the mountain sides turn pink and white.
However, as I started, this Madonna emerged. Maybe because my mother has become very old, which makes me think a lot about her, our relationship and in general, the relationship between mother and child.

The pink materials in the picture; silk, linen and cotton, are dyed using rosé wine or dried rose petals. Madonna keeps warm in real fur (bits from my mum´s mink coat). Embroidery, beads.
Hand stitched to black cotton, that has been mounted on a wooden frame (made by Kristian). Signed and ready to hang on the wall of your home.
