Hermes

16 cm tall (approx 6 inches), mounted on a 10 x 10 cm (4 X4 inches) wooden plate

Hermes is inspired by Norwegian skater Ragne Wiklund, who won silver medal during the 2026 winter Olympics on 3000 meters. I was so fascinated by how she slided effortlessly and elegantly across the ice, one arm on her back, concentrated and beautiful. She reminded me of Hermes/Mercury, the messenger of the Gods.

This tiny figurine was build by using pipe cleaners, masking tape and foil. She´s clad in a golden wool, silk and lace (all recycled materials), and wears a golden tiara. She stands on her own two feet on a plywood platform, painted ice blue.
