A Happy Day emerged from a very grumpy sketch. I was in a shitty mood, and tried to sketch how I felt. I immediately wanted to create a picture – that in the end turned out completly different from the inspiration… Stitching (and creating) makes me happy, so the best cure for a day that feels bad is to make something.
The fabrics here are scraps of linen and cotton. Some small bits have been painted with acrylic paint. I have also added a few beads (recycled from an handbag). One of a kind, hand stitched. Mounted, signed and ready to hang on the wall.
